Our daughters attend the neighborhood elementary school. Our neighborhood, as well as the school, was established in the mid 50s. Over summer break I was approached to rebrand the school. When discussing the project, we came to the conclusion that we should embrace the history and mid-century aesthetic of the time period.
Like every other school in America, the mascot is The Wildcat. For years - if not decades - the school logo has been a wildcat paw. We wanted to move back to a wildcat face. The problem for me became illustrating a wildcat that hasn't already been done while also keeping it as non threatening and child-friendly as possible.
The school and community have been pleased with the final product
and its a project I've really enjoyed working on.
The new official school logo. The graphic is used on yard signs, car decals, websites and school documents.
In addition to the initial rebrand, I've worked with the PTA to create additional graphics.
This 5-foot banner hung outside of the school during a fundraiser to chart donations.
